Family Services
We try to ensure that all our services are family friendly. Revd James is completely happy to have children in any service and prefers, if parents feel comfortable, for children to be sat near the front where the exciting things happen. If possible he askes the children to help him out in the service and at the altar, if they can. And our wardens will invite children to help give out books or take the collection if that something they'd like to do.
When we have our Family Services they are for all age groups and offer a chance to participate in worship together as God’s Family. Dogs are also welcome.
Communion services last about an hour. Family Services are generally about 45mins long.
In most of our services we sing well known hymns, and have a Bible Reading. There's an informal ‘talk’ or sermon.
Worship is then usually followed by tea and coffee - sometimes even wine or a parish meal - please feel free to stay a little longer and get to know each other.
From time to time we also go for a walk, have barbecues and other special themed services and activities. See the diary and weekly bulletin for details.
Messy Church
We know that busy families with children often find that Sunday is not always the easiest day to attend church. So we have been developing a programme of worshipful events on other days.
Prior to lockdown we'd begun to have a monthly Messy Church on Saturday afternoon. We'd like to start again but need volunteers who need to have some training and DBS checks. If it's something you'd like us to do, please get in touch. When we can put it on, it's a time when Families can creatively explore their faith together away from the formalities of a Sunday service.
