APCM report

The Parish Meeting to elect Wardens and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting for the four PCCs took place on Zoom on Thursday 15th April 2021 at 7.00pm.

May I thank everyone who took time to participate in the meeting. I'd especially like to thank those who stood as Church Wardens.

The following candidates stood during the Parish Meeting and were duly elected. These are:

Edward Fremantle and Stuart Taylor for St Nicholas' Great Hormead, as part of Hormead with Wyddial PCC.

There were no candidates for Wardens of St Giles' Wyddial.

Ann Grimsdale and Kay Walton for St George's Anstey. Kay was elected in place of Daphne Bailey who stood down this year after many years of dedicated service and we thank her for all her work and support.

Fraser Murray for Brent Pelham. One Warden vacancy remains.

Richard Crookes for Meesden. One Warden vacancy remains.

The Annual Parochial Church Meeting then took place. PCCs were elected and roles of officers agreed. All the reports were recieved.

In addition the meeting received the reports for Deanery Synod and representatives were confirmed. In addition the Safeguarding policies for Children and Vulnerable Adults were readopted for the year and all present reminded of our collective safeguarding responsibilities and how and when to report concerns.

Pleasingly there was opportunity for some discussion and sharing of ideas. One of which is to start a community 'gospel' choir. Anyone interested please get in touch with your phone number and email address. HERE

The date of the next meeting is 5th May 2022. It is hoped this will be held in person rather than via Zoom.

In previous years the meeting has been long as information in reports is restated verbally. Taking feedback into account, the idea this year was that all reports be received as 'read'. The meeting time was then better used for questions and answers pertaining to the reports and general discussion.
