Remembrance 2017
This year Remembrance Sunday falls on 12th November and the Benefice will join together for Worship at 10.45am at St George’s Church Anstey. This will include the two minutes silence at 11am and the names of all the fallen from our five villages is read out. This year we especially remember the fallen from Passchendaele, on the centenary of this brutal battle where c. 500,000 allied and German men were killed or wounded.
As previous years we also keep Remembrance special in Hormead School; this year we will meet on Friday 10th November at 11am at The War Memorial in Great Hormead. The children will plant their poppies and crosses in remembrance and we keep silence and say a prayer. All are Welcome.
