About Us

St George's Church, Anstey, St. Mary's Church Brent Pelham, St Nicholas' Church Great Hormead, St Mary's Church Meesden and St Giles' Church Wyddial are all part of one benefice (group of churches). Our members are drawn for across the benefice and further afield, of all ages and walks of life. We welcome everyone to come and be part of our congreagtions.

In normal times All our church buildings are open daily for prayer, for visitors and for anyone who wants a quiet space. But for now they have to be closed.

All five churches warmly welcome enquiries for Baptisms, Weddings, Funerals and pastoral care - do call the Rector,  1763 289258 or email.

For more information on the history of the churches please click here.

As a Benefice we are working towards our Mission Action Plan Goals; through our planning we pray to grow in  faith and in number, to serve our neighbours and to minister to those in need. You can read the MAP here.

We all work together across the benefice sharing the privilege of leading worship here.

This Benefice is part of the East Buntingford Group; and as such we work closely with our neighbouring parishes of Buntingford, Westmill and Aspenden, Royston, Barley, Barkway and Reed, and Therfield and Kelshall.
As clergy we meet regularly and plan and pray for this part of the deanery, and assist each other with leading worship and pastoral ministry.

The Revd Canon Ruth Pyke is the Rural Dean - she is Rector of Barley, Barkway and Reed.
